Assassin's Creed V

Ubisoft

To celebrate the launch of Assassin's Creed Unity's great new product - designed for cooperative mode, we encouraged fans to create their own avatars, 1,430 of which became part of an interactive trailer directed by Joseph Kosinski.

Challenge

Highlight Assassin’s Creed Unity’s great new product: the first Assassin game designed for cooperative mode.

Transformation

For the trailer of this latest opus, not just one Assassin was put forward, but rather, thousands of them. The 1,430 most liked avatars were lucky enough to be integrated in an epic trailer directed by Joseph Kosinski (Tron, Oblivion) and broadcast on TV and in cinemas around the world. An interactive version of the trailer was then made available to fans, allowing them to stop the video at any time to find their own avatar or ones created by their friends. Some fans were even surprised when their Assassins were displayed on city walls, in newspapers, and even on a special edition of the game cover.

Impact

The most visited Assassin website in the history of the franchise, with 100,000 Assassins created on the site in two weeks. The 1,430 Assassins selected for the trailer generated more than 300,000 shares; 2,500,000 website visits; and 57,000,000 page views in four weeks. The French version of the trailer was viewed more than 2,000,000 times in less than two weeks on YouTube before the international launch.
