Maison Mère’s visual identity modernises the purpose and the legacy of a former convent, now a community and collaborative space, by drawing inspiration from its original shapes, colours and textures. The logo and design grid are inspired by the former convent’s architecture and its three bell towers.
The building’s shapes, textures and colours – from the wood to the paint to the curtains – were reclaimed and repurposed to create its signage, stationery and web content. This identity succeeded in attracting the right types of small businesses to rent space at Maison Mère, making it an inviting space for a booming community built around innovation and creativity.
