Sid Lee Architecture a finalist in the Place des Montréalaises competition
The City of Montreal has announced the five finalists in the running to design the Place des Montréalaises. The multidisciplinary landscaping competition called for submissions for a new public space, which will be located near the Champ-de-Mars metro station in the heart of Montreal’s Old Port.
From the 30 submissions received, the jury—chaired by Marie Pimmel, Architect at Renzo Piano Building Workshop in Paris—chose a design proposal submitted by Sid Lee Architecture and Manadaworks in collaboration with OPTION Aménagement and GBI Experts-Conseils.
The finalists are set to present their proposals before the jury and a public audience this spring, with the winning bid to be announced in September 2018.
