ROLE

Motivated and results-driven, the VP, Growth & Innovation will report to the President and CCO, North America. They will be responsible for business development and be tasked with the delivery of Sid Lee’s growth plan through the acquisition and conversion of prospects.

They must bring strong business acumen, leadership abilities, and a proven track record of driving growth through creating momentum with a broad team. They must be competitive and financially driven, capable of understanding what motivates clients to buy, and know how to tap into those needs and desires in an effective way.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Providing strategic leadership

  • Develop plans and strategies for developing business and achieving Sid Lee’s growth objectives for your assigned territory.
  • Build and lead the best business development team in the industry.
  • Work closely with the Marketing/Public Relations office to ensure that all outbound marketing supports business development focus and efforts.

Building key strategic relationships

  • Monitor customer, market and competitor activity.
  • Drive new business efforts, developing prospects and closing net new opportunities, including researching, professional networking and referrals.
  • Identify and communicate with prospects consistently across all domestic sales channels and in person.
  • Organize and follow up on potential opportunities, and consistently communicate company value propositions.
  • Create, engage and finalize new relationships, leading prospective clients to kicking off new projects (determining project goals, services, and budgets).
  • Build long-lasting relationships and engage the right influencers, thought leaders, and key potential clients in your market for future referral possibilities.
  • Actively participate in the business community, local chambers of commerce, industry events, charitable events, professional and trade organizations, and other networking forums.
  • Work directly with our partner and parent companies to identify new opportunities for growth. 

Disseminating a business development culture throughout the agency

  • Create a culture of success and develop the team to achieve ongoing business development and goal achievement.
  • Align teams against financial goals set forth in the yearly business plan.
  • Define our service offering; specifically, aid in the development of new service offerings.
  • Define new ways to engage with prospective clients, including new engagement models, new incentive models, and additional services worth exploring.
  • Work closely with the broader business development team to determine root causes for customer success or failure and drive requirements for service enhancement and development.
  • Mobilize the right agency team members to optimize opportunities.
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with key executive leaders as the senior executive sponsor.

 Driving operational excellence

  • Lead the business development team, operations and resources to deliver profitable growth.
  • Define the optimal salesforce structure and organization to deliver exceptional performance.
  • Provide detailed and accurate revenue forecasting.
  • Achieve set sales and profit objectives, and deliver revenue growth goals established in conjunction with senior leadership.
  • Track and optimize conversion performance while maintaining best practices to meet performance targets.

REQUIREMENTS

  • The ability to think strategically and build a go-to-market strategy and global business development plan.
  • A proven track record in closing high-value business.
  • Effective coaching/mentoring skills to assess organizational bench strength.
  • The ability to monitor and evaluate team progress against stated expectations, as well as align and change behavior as per performance expectations.
  • Natural charisma and an excellent ability to quickly assess interpersonal situations.
  • A dynamic personality and the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders in a variety of industries and categories.
  • A focus on relationships and the ability to gain trust through communication, expectation setting, and the completion of planned deliverables;
  • Business acumen, sound decision-making, analytical and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment, and a consultative approach to managing complex client relationships.
  • A minimum of 8 years of agency business development experience.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce required. 
  • An impressive, active and developed business network.
  • A proven ability to lead a collaborative sales process cross-functionally to successfully win new business.
  • Personal creativity, drive, and a team-oriented attitude combined with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • The vision and courage to break new ground and establish the highest standards of excellence to achieve sales targets and goals.
  • The confidence and aptitudes to work alongside everyone in the organization, including the C-suite.
  • Enthusiasm, passion, and curiosity with regards to the creative industry.

The base salary range for this role is $175,000–$190,000 USD annually. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
